Hello! I am Michaela Morgan.
I have written many popular books for children. My work includes fiction, picture books, poetry and non-fiction.

I write all sorts of things including poetry – mostly, but not entirely, for children. I have popped up to share poetry with sticky infants, tattooed felons and bewildered passers – by and will be spreading the light in schools and streets and railway stations here and there on National Poetry Day – and all year long.

My Latest Book

In this year of celebration of the Suffragette movement, Macmillan Children’s Books are publishing Reaching the Stars – a collection of new poems celebrating extraordinary women and girls.

  • I just wanted to thank you again for today. Everyone agreed that it all went really well, the staff and children are buzzing and all are further inspired to read and write. For myself, I will be carrying a little notepad around and trying desperately to jot ideas down for writing!

  • Michaela visited our school last July and worked with Nursery up to Year 5. The children loved listening to her stories and learning all about the ‘writing process’. When it came to their own writing, they were highly motivated and enthusiastic and couldn’t wait to get their ideas down on paper. The teachers were full of praise about the visit and felt that Michaela’s approach to books and writing was very inspiring!

  • The children absolutely loved the work you did with them and are still talking about it now. You were able to accommodate a wide age range and motivate the children to produce some excellent work. The parents were also thrilled and I will be recommending you to other schools. Thanks again
