Visits

Michaela has visited many schools across the UK, Europe, the USA and Africa over the past 20 years. Most of her visits are to primary schools but she has also made author visits to secondary school, colleges and university departments of education. She is also a popular speaker at conferences and speech days.

Michaela gives talks, performances, question and answer sessions – as well as running writing workshops to produce a story or a poem.

She is willing to hold four workshop sessions per school day, and suggests that for the best results writing workshop sessions should be class size but talks and performances can be to groups of any size.

She is also willing to give talks to the whole of KS1 or KS2 or KS3.

Her working day in school will normally run from 9.30 to the end of the school day, and she appreciates lunch being provided. However, she is happy to discuss the individual needs of the school at time of booking.

She will hold book signing sessions on request.

For information regarding details of costs, please email michaelamorgan@live.co.uk or Authors Aloud

Michaela is also happy to contribute to INSET and conferences, please contact her for details.

Michaela is happy to consider visits to all locations (UK or abroad), and for a wide age group/audiences. Please feel free to contact her with your individual requirements.

I was outside as the children were going out, and one of the little ones was reciting Knock Knock to their Mum. It’s really nice when they feel they can do that.
— Troy Jenkinson, Head, Stathern Primary School
We have received really strong feedback during Michaela’s week with us from all sectors of the school – from nursery to year 6 children, from parents and from teachers. Her stay with us has been very positive, and helped the children become more enthusiastic about poetry and about reading generally. This has been a great week for Ashfield Park Primary.
— Mr Best, Head Teacher Ashfield Park Primary, Ross-on-Wye
The workshops have worked very well with all classes. Some are making their own books right now. One Teaching Assistant even asked if you could come back tomorrow and do it all again!
— Rachel de Wet, Literacy Coordinator, Uppingham C of E Primary, Uppingham
The Children were so excited. Some girls were actually shaking when we told them - “A real author, here!”. It’s been a really good day. Great.
— Lorna Ockwell, Literacy Coordinator, St Augustine's Primary, Stamford
We all thoroughly enjoyed your visit. Everyone loves the poem and we are continuing to work on it.
— Denise Durham, Head, Danesholme Infants School, Corby
It’s been brilliant. The look on the children’s faces in assembly when they realised you were speaking in rhyme - you could just watch as they realised there was a whole new way of doing things. It has been a very successful day. The children and the teachers have loved it.
— Helen Pegg, Acting Head, Astley Primary School, Melton Constable
Thank you for bringing reading magic to our school. Your wonderful workshops have inspiried children and staff, and in each classroom I can see children excited to continue the work you have begun. The children and the staff are buzzing!
— Shireen Babul, School Librarian, Chalkhill Primary, Brent
I just wanted to thank you again for today. Everyone agreed that it all went really well, the staff and children are buzzing and all further inspired to reach and write. For myself, I will be carring a little notepad around and trying desperately to jot down ideas for writing!

She was exciting! She filled our minds with excitement and lots of words. She told us about books we didn’t really know.

She was fun. She used our ideas and said ‘wow!’ I’d like to be an author and she’s got me into books now!
— Freya, Y3
Michaela was a lot friendlier and more ‘kiddy-like’ than we’d imagined. She was very quick-thinking. When someone asked her a question, she gave the answer as a rhyme.

She was really funny. She got us interested by the fun things she said and did. I didn’t think she’d be so enthusiastic!
— Alicia, Y5
We could ask her questions and she answered them very clearly, so we could understand.
